I am a film editor and director currently working at The William Kentridge Studio in Johannesburg.
I was an editor, vfx artist, and post-production supervisor on the original episodic series 'Self-Portrait As A Coffee-Pot' which offers a cinematic experience of William Kentridge’s creative process in his studio. This series premiered at TIFF 2022 and was also selected for the London, Rome, and Amsterdam Film Festivals. It was then launched as an installation at the Venice Biennale 2024 and is now available for streaming on Mubi.
I was an editor and projection designer for 'The Great Yes, The Great No' which is part play, part oratorio, part chamber opera conceived & directed by William Kentridge. Set on a liner sailing from Marseille to Martinique in 1941, this surrealist piece premiered at the Luma Foundation in Arles (FR) 2024 and will continue to tour globally.
I was one of the editors on William Kentridge’s original film titled 'Oh To Believe In Another World' which was made to accompany the live orchestral performance of Shostakovich’s 10th Symphony. This premiered in Lucerne, Switzerland and then went on to be performed in Pompeii, Italy as well as Johannesburg, South Africa.
I wrote, directed and edited the original feature documentary 'Rhythm & Smoke'. This project was commissioned by 'MonsterEnergy' and is a deep dive into a very unique aspect of South African culture. The documentary first aired on multiple DSTV channels across the African continent and is now available on Showmax. It received two nominations at the Bokeh International Film Festival 2021 for ‘Best Directing’ as well as for ‘Best Documentary’.
